2019 offseason
Signing of Hyun-Jin Ryu
the Toronto Blue Jays signed Hyun-Jin Ryu for 4 years 80 million dollars.I am ecstatic. so he led the league in ERA with the 2.32 which is amazing. This year he was the runner-up for the cy young. He also was an all-star. We have our new ace. I am so happy with our rotation now. But there rotation could still be better, there’s still some massive holes. But, I think that now it’s gonna be amazing because they have Chase Anderson, Tanner Roark, Matt shoemaker, Trent Thornton, Ryan Borucki who’s injured. They also have Anthony Kay, who I’m not a big fan. Jacob Waguespack who’s okay and TJ Zeuch. I really like this, I’m proud of you for actually spending money.
Blue Jays sign SP Tanner Roark to 2-year, $24M contract
Yesterday the Blue Jays signed right-handed pitcher Tanner Roark to a two-year 24 million dollar deal which would pay him 12 million dollars per year. Roark’s main pitch is a sinker at 92 mph, a 85 mph slider. a 77 mph curveball and a changeup at 82 mph.he is projectected next season to have a 9-11 record, a 4.56 ERA a 1.363 WHIP,
Blue Jays sign SP Shun Yamaguchi to 2-year, $6M contract
0Big, thick RHP that fits well in late-inning reliever role and can give multiple innings. Has been a closer in the past, but recently moved to the rotation in 2014. Has been up to 96-97 mph before entering the rotation and see him getting back to plus with the fastball in shorter stints. Pounds down in zone and works in to both righties and lefties. Forkball is his out pitch; above-average feel and will work in variations on the depth; bigger tumble early in count and circle change-type bottom for put-away. Slider used almost exclusively to RHH; for strikes. on the curveball, likes to use early in the count. Showing average command recently, Easy mechanics, does not have to be max effort to generate velocity
2019 Season moves
Derek Fisher trade aka worst trade ever
Around the MLB, as soon as 4:00 pm ET hit, there was a flurry of trades that were finalized with mere seconds left until the deadline — in one of the many, the Blue Jays acquired outfielder Derek Fisher from the Houston Astros fo Aaron Sanchez, Joe Biagini, and Cal Stevenson. Sanchez, arguably the biggest piece going to Houston, has had his fair share of big moments in Toronto, but since the memorable playoff games he has been stuck in a gutter that he just can’t get out of. With his free agency eligibility looming in 2021, the Jays decided to move on from the pitcher and try to get some value out of him instead of potentially non-tendering the pitcher this winter. this is probably one of the best on the worst trades and blue jays history because they traded away a potential ace plus a good bullpen arm and a prospect 4 below average force out filter that absolutely sucks this trade makes me very unhappy
Eric Sogard trade
According to an official team announcement, the Blue Jays have acquired pitchers Curtis Taylor and Edisson Gonzalez from the Tampa Bay Rays as the two players to be named later in the Eric Sogard trade earlier this summer. The 33-year-old veteran joined the Rays on July 28th. This is a pretty good trade for the Blue Jays the trailer weigh an average infielder for a pair of pitching park prospects, good job.
kevin ‘superman” pillar trade
On april 2 2019 the blue jays traded longtime center fielder and fan favourite kevin’ superman” pillar, who I have met before. They traded him for Derek Law, Alen Hanson and Juan De Paula. The best player that the blue jay got in the trade was probably Derek Law, who is the blue jay new setup man in bullpen. Alen Hanson was with the blue jays right after the trade. In his tenure he was terrible. He had a 163 batting average, which is terrible. Therefore, after 18 games he was DFA’d then was outrighted to triple A buffalo. kevin’ superman” pillar with the blue jays batted 260 hit 55 home runs had 231 RBI’s. So therefore he is a great player. The toronto blue jays did a affal job with this trade could have gotten a lot better return or could have just kept him.
Kendrys Morales trade
On March 27, 2019 Blue Jays traded Kendrys Morales to Oakland for Jesus Lopez and 12 million dollars of Kendrys Morales. The purpose of the trade was to make room for the young position players that the blue jays have in the farm. The downside is that they had to eat 12 million dollars.
2018/19 0ffseason
Russell Martin trade
On January 11, 2019 the Blue jays traded away Long time catcher Canadian Russell Martin. They traded him for two prospects that I’ve never heard of. the only good part about the trade is that they were able to make room for their young catching prospects and they were able to get rid of a little bit of a salary even though they here to eat part of it.
Trent Thornton trade
On November 17, 2018, the Blue Jays traded Aledmys Diaz for Trent Thornton. This was not that bad of a trade for the Blue Jays got a very good starting pitcher who can turn out to be a study in the long run for an average shortstop.
2018 season
Giovanny urshela trade
On August 4, 2018 the Toronto Blue Jays traded Giovanny Urshela to the New York Yankees for cash. At the time this seems like a fair trade because Giovanny Urshela wasn’t very good for us but with the Yankees this past season he’s turned into one of the best hitters. this is a very bad trade in the long run, if they would have kept him they would have had a really good bat in the lineup.
Aaron Loup trade
On july 31th 2018, the blue jay traded Aaron Loup to the Phillies for Jacob Waguespack. At the time of this look like the jays we’re gonna lose this trade is there a losing what are the best left-handed reliever’s In Aaron Loup. But now it looks like the Jays got a steal because now Jacob Waguespack is one of their better starting pitchers on the roster. so not that bad of a trade.
seung-hwan ho Trade
On July 25th a 2018 the Blue Jays traded away their offseason signing from the prior offseason song seung-hwan ho aka the final boss to the Colorado Rockies. In return they got Forest wall, who is a very good outfielder in the Blue Jays minor-league system. Unfortunately he still has miles to go in the minors, but I think he could eventually be a major league player. They also got Chad spangenberg who I’ve heard a lot about and I’ve heard that he’s a really good Prospect up-and-coming the Blue Jays system. They also got Brian Barker, who I don’t know who he is but he was the long and that trade. this trade was fairly good in terms of timing. I don’t mind maybe they could have got a little more I don’t know.
J.A. Happ trade
On July 26th 2018, the Blue Jays traded J A Happ who was a very good starting pitcher for the Blue Jays in his tenure. In return they got a very underwhelming package of Brandon Drury who is a below average to average infielder. They also got Billy McKinney who is a minor leaguer that isn’t that good, but definitely has his moments at times. I overall think of the Blue Jays should have got a hell of a lot more in his trade. They probably could have got one of the Yankees top prospects but instead they got Brandon Drury and Billy McKinney who are overall not that good at all. I’m very unimpressed with Ross Atkins.
Roberto Osuna trade
On July 30th 2018 the Blue Jays unfortunately had to make a trade. Where they gave up they’re closer for the last 3-4 seasons before the trade Roberto Osuna because of allegations of sexual assault. Which I probably shouldn’t be going into, but I don’t believe he did anything. I am a huge fan of Roberto Osuna. I’m a little bit biased in terms of how big of a fan. I am but I really love Roberto. He is a great pitcher. In return the Blue Jays got Ken Giles who was also a head case for his former team. the Astros because he yelled at as manager which is frowned upon in baseball and was recently not pitching for the Astros because of what he did. He has been pretty good, but not as good as Roberto he can’t it go over a hundred miles per hour unfortunately but Roberto could. But he has been at least good serviceable closer above-average. They also got Hector Perez who was recently cut by the Blue Jays. they also got David Paulino who this past spring training got into a fight with Ken Giles and was not really done anything for the blue jays.
the Josh Donaldson trade aka one of the worst trades in Blue Jays history
On October 5th 2018 the Blue Jays finished off a trade with the Indians that was originally reported on on August 30th 2018. where the Cleveland got former 2015 Blue Jays MVP Josh Donaldson. who was one of my favourite players during that era. Also I have his jersey that’s how much I loved him. And here’s the funny part. In return the Blue Jays got a farmhand who I think was in Triple-A with the Indians. Before dare I say, having one of the worst injuries a pitcher could ever have. Tommy John surgery or UCL reconstruction surgery and the person I’m talking about is Julian Merryweather, who to this day this guy has only pitched two games and in total 9 Innings which is an average of 4.5 Innings per appearance. I know he had upside while with the Indians. which as many of you may know Atkins used to be with the Indians. I think that there was definitely tampering involved between Atkins and Shapiro and the the people high up in Cleveland’s Front office. and also you probably should have traded him the offseason before not on the last day of the waiver trade deadline that’s probably one of the most idiotic moves of his tenure. so nice job messing that up atkins.
Steve Pearce trade
On June 28th 2018 the Blue Jays trade of the way Steve Pearce who is a an average platoon first baseman and left fielder he had some power not the best Fielder they also gave away a little bit of money I assume to pay off his contract and in exchange the Blue Jays got a infielder Santiago Espanal who has not done anything.
Sam gaviglio Trade
On March 21st 2018 which is during spring training close to the end of it the Blue Jays traded cash considerations for Sam gaviglio who is a field a fairly good either starter or Longman out of bullpen the overall this trade is not that bad I kind of like the Sam gaviglio is currently to the stay still with the blue jays and has always been a good reliable picture he’s not the best picture but he’s at least quality.
2018 offseason
Unneeded veteran outfielder signing AKA Curtis Granderson
On January 5th 2018 Curtis Granderson a left fielder was signed to one-year 5 million to the Toronto Blue Jays. Curtis Granderson, is a veteran outfielder. The Blue Jays did not need him because they had a lot of outfielders in Teoscar Hernandez. Randal Grichuk and Kevin pillar so did you not need them. Frankly, the Blue Jays did not need an old overpaid outfielder in Curtis Granderson. So this is probably one of the worst signings that Atkins had.
Dominic Leone trade 2.0
On January 19th 2018, the Blue Jays traded Dominic Leone who was a pretty good reliever. They also traded Connor Green who is a minor league player. In return they got Randal Grichuk, who is a very good outfielder. Randal is probably one of the best players on the Blue Jays currently. So this is probably one of the better moves in Ross Atkins tenure with the Blue Jays. so I’m going to say nice job.
Seung-Hwan Oh signing
On February 26th 2018 the Blue Jays sign Seung-Hwan Oh AKA “The Final Boss” was signed to one-year $2 million dollar contract. He is a veteran setup reliever meaning 7th or 8th inning reliever which the Blue Jays did not need because they are rebuilding and their young team so this is not a very good signing.
Jaime Garcia signing
On February 15th, 2018 the Blue Jays signed Jaime Garcia a starting pitcher to a one-year deal worth $10 which is definitely way too much for him not being a very good player he is a below-average starting pitcher so I don’t really like the signing one bit. Atkins you wiffed big time.
2017 trades
The Aledmys Diaz Trade
On December 1st, 2017 the Toronto Blue Jays Trader JB Woodman who is a largely unknown Prospect Outfield Prospect. In exchange, the Blue Jays got Aledmys Diaz, who is pretty amazing while average starting shortstop for the St Louis Cardinals which is a pretty good trade. This is a fairly average trade not good but also not that bad.
Gift Ngoepe trade
On November 20th, 2017 the Blue Jays acquired a gift by getting, gift Ngoepe from the Pittsburgh Pirates. for future considerations. Which, I assume it would probably be another Prospect Gift Ngoepe is a is a defensive first player who does not really have a bat I think is currently in double-a or Triple-A for the Blue Jays. The cool thing about this guy is that. He is the first player from Africa.
Norichika Aoki trade
On July 31st 2017 the Blue Jays made a trade of Norichika Aoki a Japanese Major League player who is Japanese veteran player who’s been around League quite a bit I didn’t mind him the trade but what was the really big part was to Teoscar Hernandez who is an amazing outfielder he was originally just a corner outfielder now he can actually play Center field he has an amazing power and elite Speed and in return the Blue Jays just had to give away Francisco Liriano and his contract. which is a pretty good trade so I don’t l don’t hate ross Atkins for that.
Joe Smith trade
July 31st, 2017 the Blue Jays traded Joe Smith a sidearm right-handed reliever for Thomas Pannone. Who eventually turned out to be a pretty good left-handed pitcher. He probably one of my favourite pitchers with the Blue Jays. This is one of the few trades that I do like.
2017 offseason moves free agents signed
On January 6th 2017 the Blue Jays got Yangervis Solarte for two prospects to the San Diego Padres. in my opinion this trade is not very good because they’re getting an older third baseman which they don’t need because they already have an mvp-caliber third baseman in Josh Donaldson even though he’s injury-prone.
Marco Estrada resigning
Marco Estrada was signed September 20th, 2017 to a one-year 13 million-dollar extension going through the 2018 season worth 13 million dollars for that next season, which is a pretty good deal.
Michael Saunders signing
Michael Saunders was signed by the Toronto Blue Jays, on June 28th, 2017. He is an injury-prone (a.k.a the d-rose of baseball) player who the prior-year had has ankle caught on sprinkler in spring training. Which made them not be able to play for most of that year so this was a very risky move that Ross Atkins made so we probably shouldn’t have signed Michael. WIFFED!!!
2016 trades
Drew Hutchinson trade
On August 1st 2016 the Blue Jays traded away Drew Hutchinson for Francisco Liriano, Harold Ramirez and Reese McGuire. Here’s the one trade where Mark Shapiro and Ross Atkins actually fleece the team and did the right thing and then go up there now backup catcher Reese McGuire in this trade they got Francisco Liriano Harold Ramirez Reese McGuire for Drew Hutchinson who sucked as a picture for us needed eight runs a run support in every single one of his starts to even get a win it was good to get rid of him but we got a pretty good solid starting pitcher we got a prospect never developed and eventually got picked in the Rule 5 draft by the Marlins and we got our are now back up catcher. I honest to God think this might be the best trades in Ross Atkins tenure with the Blue Jays.
Drew Storen trade 1.0
On January 8th 2016, the Blue Jays traded Drew Storen for Ben Revere. I don’t have a problem with Ross Atkins and Mark Shapiro getting Drew Storen for Ben Revere except for Ben Revere being great player for us in 2015 during our Championship run and then getting traded not even a month after the run but the problem Then on July 26th 2016 the Blue Jays traded Drew Storen who is just traded for 7 months ago is now traded for Joaquin Benoit. I have a problem with the Blue Jays trading Drew Storen away a few months into the season for Joaquin Benoit who eventually got injured for us in a playoff game when he was in a fight. So basically it was a waste of a trade/assets.
Jason Grilli AKA grilled cheese signing
On May 31st 2016, the Blue Jays traded for Jason Grilli AKA grilled cheese. In exchange some pitcher named Sean Ratliff. I don’t have a problem with getting Jason Grilli. he was a great pitcher for us back in 2016-17 is a great setup. So I don’t really have a problem with this.
2015/16 free agents signings
Kendrys Morales signed
On November 11th 2015 which is pretty close to start a free agency so it’s a little early to sign a DH at this time so they signed Kendrys Morales to three years 33 million over those three years which is 11 million per year little much for someone who is old obviously going to decline over the next three years and I still remember when the street when the signing happen ice member Ross Atkins and Mark Shapiro said that he was going to play first base a little in the Outfield never played in the Outfield he was supposed to play in the Outfield but he never did
Blue Jays sign Steve Pearce
On December 9th, 2015 the Blue Jays sign Steve Pearce a first baseman and left fielder to a two-year deal worth 12.5 million which just over six million per year.Steve Pearce is a platoon first baseman and left fielder. He is an average player, with a fair amoat of power. He can’t run at all, I think the Blue Jays would have been better off pulling a fan from the stands to run for him. He is not a good fielder. This is not a very good signing to start off Ross Atkins career. Might be one of the worst moves he made.
Gavin Floyd signing
On February 5th, 2016 the Blue Jays sign Gavin Floyd to 1 year 1 million at first I didn’t mind the steel one but I thought this might be a good deal but then I realize this guy is a sidearm reliever. I think that signing someone that’s had two Tommy John surgeries is a bad idea. This guy was not very good for us
Maicer Izturis signing
February 5th, 2016 The Blue Jays signed Maicer Izturis who I cannot stand one bit. I’ve always hated this guy every single year he’s been with the Blue Jays he sucks, he sucks, he sucks.
My Conclusion
I’m just going to end this blog off by saying, Rogers media please do the right thing and please fire Ross Atkins and Mark Shapiro they are the worst pair of Executives in all of baseball. They are not in it to make the Blue Jays. There in it to secretly rigged it so Cleveland can win a World Series. So please fire Ross Atkins because he does not know how to win and fire Mark Shapiro because he does not know how to pronounce his own last name. the end…
